A few weeks ago I did a floral shoot with Kelsey from Feather and Twine. The first half of the shoot we did a bouquet recipe which is going to be featured over on 100 Layer Cake soon (yay!) and the second half of that shoot…well we just had fun. And that’s what I’m planning to share here today- that fun little tirade into florals. First up is this little mock centerpiece I put together. In retrospect I think it has a bit too much greenery, but it’s still fun and a good option for a more affordable centerpiece. I mean obviously more greenery = less expensive :)
Here it is styled on a grey backdrop. I totally prefer the brick wall, but this grey is so clean and pretty too.
Then I took some of the florals off the stems and played around with them on this blush pink linen. I refer to this as a botanical. I can see an entire flower book like this that would have a different flower type on each page…a floral encyclopedia if you will. That would be a lot of fun to put together :)
This shoot was so much fun. These are the type of projects I love. Being able to stretch my creative muscles and just have fun creating. Was there an end goal for these shots? No. But that also meant there was really no pressure either. These last few months have been so busy and my mind has been scattered trying to figure out what direction I ultimately want to take my business. This was a nice moment to just stop and enjoy myself.
