A Phoenix room update and some photo shoot goodies

Sorry things have been so quiet over here. I’ve been out on so many site visits, meetings, and walkthroughs that I actually haven’t sat down in my office in about a week and a half. I’m currently sitting there right now and it feels very sweet indeed. Something about finishing up all of my spring weddings feels so so good, but it also means that full on planning and prep for my fall weddings is upon me. Which I’m really excited about- I have some amazing clients on the calendar that I can’t wait to talk more about. I’ve also been working on a sweet little vow renewal that is coming up in the next few weeks. More on that later too.

But right now, I thought I would share a few general updates about a little bit of everything. Phoenix’s room is officially painted and coming together!

Since taking this photo we’ve actually got the bed in there as well as hung the curtains. My friend Paige is coming over this week to shoot this room so it will actually be finished within the next few days. It’s probably not quite ready yet, but I needed the motivation to finish it, so I set the date and knew that would push me to get it done. I seriously have to give myself these deadlines or projects would stretch out over months and months (my cream living room walls are staring at me as I type that).

I’ve also been working on a few mini photo shoots, which is my new favorite kind. The first happened over the weekend with our contest winners. I didn’t actually get to meet this sweet couple since Topher and I had to rush off after we set up (he had to be at work bright and early Saturday morning), but Candace and I e-mailed back and forth a bit to pull together this mood board for her shoot. She wanted a soft and pretty bohemian shoot- her only request was that we incorporate a teepee and antlers. Um, no problem! This is the first board I put together

And then I decided to put another board together too just in case Candace wanted to add in a little color.

My personal favorite is the second one, but Candace is a classy lady and went with the first one. Probably a great call since that one won’t look dated in five years :) Here are a few little sneak peek’s the photographer Christine shared over the weekend.

Cute, no? Then the next mini photo shoot is one going down with Jen Wojcik next week. She is coming in from out of town and wanted to put something small, detailed, and pretty together while she was here. I was thrilled with her photography style (amazing!) and the word “small”. Anything that I can work on in my free time and feels like fun and not work is really making me happy right now. Here are a few of our inspiration images.

Getting very excited for that indeed! And that ends this random Monday update for now- off to spend the rest of the day with my family since Monday is technically our weekend :)
